A decade might seem like a long time for a couple to wait before saying “I do,” but not so for Amanda Willcoxson and Patrick Hengel, who met as 3-year-olds in preschool before starting to officially date in their sophomore year of high school. “After being together for 10 years, we were so excited to get married and celebrate our love, but also felt that we owed so much gratitude to our friends and family who had supported us since the beginning of our relationship,” says Amanda, who describes the 300-guest event as a mix of traditional and rustic. The ceremony took place in a beautiful Catholic church nestled in the bluffs just outside La Crosse. This classic, conservative venue was the inspiration for Amanda’s stunning Vera Wang gown with added custom lace sleeves and luxurious train. The couple used muted colors of gray, taupe, champagne and blush pink, as well as mixed metallic tones, to carry the traditional feel effortlessly into the residence that played host to the reception. The flowers, floral chandelier above the dance floor, and the pendant lights above the head table were definite wow-factors and drew the most compliments from guests.
