Although they lived in Chicago at the time, Amanda Cooper and William Pauly planned to have their wedding where they first met, in Milwaukee. As down-home, rustic romantics at heart (they live in Austin, Texas, now), they tried to create a country feel in their city surroundings. Amanda is creative, always reupholstering furniture or doing a craft project, so she was thrilled to take on the wedding, adding personal touches throughout the event. She spray-painted vases and a vintage birdcage gold, crafted a glittery card table sign and designed her own table menus. She purchased handcrafted lovebirds (created by artist Becky Kazana) to perch amongst romantic wildflowers atop the cake, and the couple wandered the tall grass of Lakeshore State Park for prairie-inspired photos in downtown Milwaukee. Huge live-music lovers, they danced the night away to Chicago cover band Spoken Four.
