Annie and Jeff Set the Stage for a Spotlight Special Day

Real Wedding

Act One of Annie and Jeff's wedding day took place center stage of the Bartell Theatre beneath a sparkling chandelier and surrounded by the elegance of gold drapery and candles. The couple met  while performing together in a play at this very venue, so it made for the perfect setting to share their new lines of "I Do" with one another. Annie's gown, which she designed herself, exuded old Hollywood glam, and we're still swooning over her magnificent jeweled headpiece! Act Two was when the party started, complete with decadent Italian fare, and late night sustenance for the dancers in the way of pizzas and a surprise ice cream truck. The curtain may have dropped on this fabulous affair, but the newlyweds will continue to star in their shared story. Come see all the beautiful memories captured by MN Reynolds Photography LLC.

From the couple:

Jeff and Annie met acting in a play at the Bartell Theatre in Madison, so when they were looking for a ceremony venue, they approached the executive director of the theater, Kirk Stantis about hosting their wedding there. Jeff and Annie wanted to create a day that reflected their love for one another and for their family and friends. Kirk was excited about the idea and made sure that the theater went above and beyond to help make the couple’s day special and even put their names on the marquee.

Jeff and Annie really liked older traditions and wanted to combine them with gestures that reflected who they are as a couple. The ceremony had four readers who chose their own pieces and the couple, along with their parents, planted a unity apple tree before exchanging vows. Instead of using a program, the couple went a more eco-friendly route and created a few playbills, which were displayed at the theater.

The reception was held at Brink Lounge. The couple chose their favorite Sicilian restaurant Café La Belitalia as their caterer and served cannoli, a traditional Sicilian dessert to reflect Annie’s heritage, for dessert. The couple gave out Rose Quartz--a stone known for love and happiness--which they purchased from Cave of the Mounds, in sachets along with inserts of various words about love in different languages. The floral arrangements on the table were red and pink to offset the black, white, and gold décor on the tables. The couple featured wedding pictures of their grandparents, parents, and Annie’s sister to further surround themselves and their guests with love. The décor of the ceremony was done “in eights” to subtly celebrate the date of the wedding-,“8/8.” Annie and Jeff wanted the evening to be a big party--which it was--there was dancing, a photo booth, a paint by numbers guest book mural created by Jeff, late night pizza, and an end of the evening ice cream truck that Jeff and Annie hired as a surprise treat for all of their guests.

Jeff and Annie hired Mackenzie Reynolds of MN Reynolds LLC as their photographer, after Cathy (Annie’s sister) recommended her and could not be happier with their choice. “To say Mackenzie went above and beyond is an understatement, she was amazing!” exclaimed the couple. The couple said that Mackenzie and her assistant were amazing to work with and had flair for creating artistic and glamorous yet very intimate photographs. Mackenzie also set up a photo booth at the reception, which her brother helped run, and the guests really enjoyed. Jeff and Annie are ecstatic about the photographs they saw during their “sneak peak” and are excited to see the rest.

From the photographer:

Annie and Jeff’s wedding was one that any photographer would die for! As a fine arts
artist who has recently started the venture into wedding photography, I could not have
asked for a better wedding. With dramatic lighting, colors and a dress that old
hollywood would have cast, it was easy for me to document their day. Annie and Jeff
allowed me to take artistic license letting me photograph them in back alleys and down
at the children’s museum. They wanted an urban feel without the typical downtown Madison backdrops. I want to thank the lovely couple for seeing the potential in this
artist; my assistant Stephanie Nutt and my brother Craig Reynolds, who worked my first photo booth set up.
