Cheers to a Vintage Vineyard Wedding

Real Wedding

What started has a simple high school friendship blossomed into a loving college relationship for LeAnn and Derrin. Five years later, Derrin  proposed with a vintage-inspired ring that he knew LeAnn would love. With hugs and tears, she said, “Yes!” The theme of the ring carried over into the wedding, starting LeAnn, Derrin, and the couple's parents on antique hunts and DIY projects. The bride had a specific look in mind, and the dedicated group left no stone unturned in search of vintage candleabras, hobnail vases, milk glass, crates, and more. While the couple made aisle signs, created a card box, and hand cut chevron table runners, LeAnn's parents were on the prowl for doors to use as an entrance statement piece when LeAnn walked down the outdoor aisle with her father by her side. Even the archway that Derrin and LeAnn got married under was custom made by her parents. Despite a somewhat windy day, the couple's beautiful wedding was filled with personal and unique touches that enhanced the vineyard backdrop.

From the bride:

I had always dreamed of a very detailed vintage/country-inspired wedding and a reception in a non-traditional venue. Derrin and I, along with our parents, designed and planned our entire DIY wedding that took place at Vernon Vineyards with the reception on the same property in the Pedretti Party Barn.

We were married by Derrin’s godparents in a non-religious ceremony. I walked down the aisle (with my bouquet wrapped in my mother’s veil) to a song from my favorite artist, Tom Petty. We also had readings that included the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s song, “Forever Young.” We wanted every single detail of our wedding to be about the two of us. We think we succeeded. Knowing that our friends and family would like something to do while we were taking pictures after the wedding, we made sure to have lawn games like bean bags and horseshoes. They were also encouraged to enjoy some spirits and Rural Route popcorn! At the reception, we cut our cake made by my mom. We had a blast eating delicious comfort foods, snacking at the Nacho Bar (Derrin’s dream), and dancing the night away in the barn. We finished the night off with our favorite photograph in the rain under an umbrella. It was truly the wedding day of our dreams! Our photographer, Tanya, caught every single detail!
