From a golf tournament at Geneva National to an evening boat party on historic Lake Geneva’s Lady of the Lake steamboat, guests at Erin Powers and Matt Movall’s action-packed wedding weekend were treated to true Wisconsin treasures. The backyard reception at the bride’s parents’ early 1900s lake house included live jazz, cocktails and appetizers on the lawn, and the couple arriving on a 1924 luxury yacht. The reception tent, which accommodated more than 380 guests, was filled with unique features including a custom dance floor and crystal chandeliers.

To honor the couple’s four sets of grandparents (with a combined 252 years of marriage), the couple displayed oversized wedding photos, and each couple danced to their wedding song. Treasured moments were key to the success of this event, and there’s no doubt the couple chose the perfect venue. “The house represents memories, relaxation and escape, and this was the message we wanted to express through the wedding as well,” says Erin. “It wasn’t only about creating a beautiful memory for Matt and me, but creating a memory for everyone.”
