College Sweethearts Say "I Do" at Blackhawk Country Club

The night before their big day, Sarah Bellissimo and Zach Scherschel got a call they would never forget: The Madison restaurant hosting their rehearsal dinner was on fire. Luckily, the Madison Concourse Hotel was able to host the event and create a last-minute menu, averting disaster and serving up a lovely meal for the longtime couple and their loved ones. Sarah and Zach, who met in high school and reconnected in college, wanted their big day to feel elegant, simple and classic. They chose a sophisticated color palette, incorporating neutral tones, gold accents, greenery and pops of powder blue. Guests noshed on cupcakes and danced the night away right by beautiful Lake Mendota. Personal touches made the festivities extra-special: The lace wrapping Sarah’s bridal bouquet was from her mother’s wedding veil, and table numbers and signage were lovingly created for the couple by friends and family.
