An Elegant Affair at Villa Terrace

Real Wedding

Eric proposed to Jen while on a romantic vacation, and the theme of romance carried right on into their gorgeous wedding at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. There is classic beauty in this breathtaking venue that was designed and built honoring the style of a 16th century Italian Renaissance villa. Overlooking Lake Michigan, the lush gardens mimic that of a Tuscan landscape, and the only thing more beautiful in this exquisite landscape is a bride and groom sharing their love for one another. From the Bride:

From the day I first saw Villa Terrace, I knew that if I
were ever to get married in Milwaukee, this would be where it would happen.
Fortunately, Eric asked me to marry him in August 2013 during a romantic
vacation to Maine.

I know I am lucky when I say this, but it really was smooth sailing as far a wedding planning goes. We took a laid back
approach and spent more time and money on the things that mattered to
us. It was easy because we incorporated the things we love into the
wedding and did not worry what other people would think.

We took the same laid back attitude to the wedding day itself. We were
lucky in that the weather was beautiful. We wanted to take pictures
before the ceremony so that we would enjoy cocktail hour talking to our
friends and family. I wasn't nervous about the ceremony itself because
I was standing in front of friends and family. I would like to tell you
that I remembered everything that was said during the ceremony but it
was such a blur! I do remember looking at Eric and just being so happy.
We've waited a long time for this day and a lot of effort was put into
our long distance relationship, and we finally made it!

The rest of the evening was equally as amazing. The dinner in the
courtyard was a nice concept and had the weather been a tad warmer I
think everyone would have enjoyed it more. Regardless, I think this
just encouraged people to dance the night away afterwards, which is
exactly what I did. I don't think I ever left the dance floor until the
end of the last dance.
