Ten years after Elizabeth Frantz and John Sweet met as high schoolers, they embarked on their lives together with a very grown-up gathering. They exchanged vows—he in a tuxedo, she in an elegant gown and veil—at a venue both on the water and in a woodsy, Wisconsin setting. When the pair was looking for a venue for their magical day, they visited the Oconomowoc Lake Club, and, Elizabeth says, “we walked in and we just knew.” Perhaps it was fate that drew them together and destiny that divined the perfect setting for their big day—or maybe it was the closeness that bloomed from spending their formative years in each other’s company. For their first dance, John chose a song to evoke their teen years: “Learning to Fly.” It’s a meaningful song for the couple, because “we hear it and we’re right back to being 16.”
