Hannah Buckmaster and Saul Fofana both attended high school in Appleton and college at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, but out on the town one night, it was the dance floor where their budding relationship bloomed. When it came time to tie the knot, the inspiration for the couple’s wedding theme came from the very ring with which Saul proposed to Hannah during an impromptu trip to Door County. “I loved the emerald jewel-tone color of the stone, the gold, and the intricate pattern—almost like lace—of the shape,” says Hannah. With a relaxed, bohemian vibe in mind, the two hunted throughout Wisconsin for perfectly mismatched décor, including jewel-toned vases, oriental rugs, lacy fabrics and gemstones for favors. After a short and intimate ceremony in the dairy barn, guests enjoyed relaxing and socializing on the big hill at the entrance of the reception barn. “It was definitely magical and unreal to have everyone that matters to you in one place enjoying themselves and celebrating such a special moment,” says Hannah.
