Wedding: June 17, 2017
Ceremony & reception: About Thyme Farm, Baileys Harbor
Honeymoon: Greece & Italy
While Janelle Otero was working in Switzerland on a three-month assignment, Adam Suttner embarked on a covert assignment: Fly to New Mexico to ask Janelle’s family for her hand in marriage. After receiving their blessing, Adam visited places from Janelle’s childhood, which he recorded on an iPad. That footage eventually made its way to Switzerland, where Adam proposed to Janelle at the foot of the Matterhorn. For their Wisconsin wedding, the couple sought a location where the bride’s family (all visiting from New Mexico) could have plenty to do during the wedding week, experiencing the best that the state has to offer. Looking for the perfect barn venue, Janelle and Adam looked at many spaces before falling in love with the rustic-chic About Thyme Farm. Vibrant florals provided standout décor, while Adam’s handmade wedding arch was a gorgeous personal touch. Their outdoor celebration also provided the couple and their guests with a few laughs. The couple’s niece and nephew made a grand entrance, running so fast that their 2-year-old niece stumbled; after checking her knees for scrapes, she got up and carried on. Following the youngsters’ performance, Janelle made a grand entrance of her own, her veil whipped by the wind as her father escorted her down the aisle. But all the commotion faded as the couple exchanged the vows they had written for one another, for this, their most memorable day.
