Ceremony & Reception: Bride’s family’s barn, Green Bay
Honeymoon: Maui
When Kelli Halron’s parents bought an expanse of land in Green Bay that was home to a charming barn, she told her dad that one day she wanted to be married there. Years later, she shared that dream with Drew Basten–who would propose to her behind the barn one cool October night. “He wrote on a pumpkin, ‘Will you marry me?’ and was down on one knee in the distance,” remembers Kelli. Last September, Kelli’s longtime dream became a reality, when she married Drew in a rustic-chic affair that put the newly renovated barn to good use, along with a lavishly decorated adjoining tent. After the ceremony, the couple, the 22-member bridal party, family and friends gathered for a feast of grilled tenderloin, rainbow glazed carrots and seafood pasta. After Kelli changed from her ceremony ball gown into a fit-and-flare gown for the reception, guests danced to a dueling pianos performance, and Drew’s brother surprised the couple with a fireworks display that lit up the autumn sky.
