Lainie & Michael: A Classic Wedding with Personalized Touches

Lainie Cohen and Michael Minkoff chose their wedding venue for its unadorned setting so that the duo could bring their creativity to a blank slate. The results? “Perfect,” the bride says. The venue holds special meaning for the duo because it’s home to Camp Shalom, which was founded by Michael’s grandfather; there, they rejoiced in adding their own special touches. They were wed under a handmade chuppah, which represents the home that the couple will build together; it’s open on all sides to symbolize the hospitality that they will show to family and friends throughout their life together. Another meaningful touch was the custom-designed logo on their invitations, and, in a surprise to the bride, that was also projected in lights on the dance floor. The logo is a Hebrew phrase that translates to “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.”
