Wedding: July 22, 2017
Ceremony: First Lutheran Church, Onalaska
Reception: The Waterfront, La Crosse
Honeymoon: Lake Geneva
Lindsey Dietzman knew Michael Hovde was the smartest person in their human physiology biology lab, and she’s thankful that she didn’t turn down the opportunity to study with him for their final exam. Pursuing their career dreams took them to different states to continue their studies, but the couple returned to Wisconsin, and on the coldest day of the year in January 2016, Michael proposed. Luckily, Mother Nature provided warmer weather for their wedding on a sunny day in July. The couple’s vision for their big day embraced the season’s lush greens and soft colors, with classic touches such as black tuxes and tables numbers, and welcome signs with calligraphy by the bride. At the reception in the Cargill Room at the Waterfront, guests enjoyed a picturesque sunset over the Mississippi River from the patio. Later, the sound of raindrops made for a cozy and relaxing atmosphere as the couple and guests danced into the night. Though a different song was played than planned for the couple’s first dance, it didn’t faze the couple. Said Michael, when Lindsey told him, “It doesn’t even matter because I’m so happy to be with you.”
