The love story of Nabeelah and Jack, both living oceans apart and meeting on chance trips to Tanzinina, is enough to steal your heart. After a pen-pal style courtship, the two joined as one in the groom's hometown. The bride was breathtaking in a figure-flattering lace gown, and the groom was stylish in his gray suit and mint, striped bow tie. The ceremony included live acoustic music featuring songs the couple mailed to one another on mix tapes. Following the ceremony, the couple's handwritten story continued, asking guests to write postcards with advice for the newlyweds. People traveled from different continents to celebrate this couple's union, but just as Wisconsin is good at, everyone felt welcome, engaged, and entertained by this upscale backyard party. Nabeelah, a spirited Aussie, and Jack, a cool Midwesterner, were an unlikely pair to meet. Distance and
improbability aside, fate brought the two together on separate trips to Tanzania. After sparks flew, the
two began their courtship the old fashioned way: through handwritten letters across the ocean. After
visits, moves, and the inevitability of ending up together, the pair wed in the groom's
hometown of La Crosse.
Nestled in an expansive valley between the town's signature bluffs, Norskedalen Nature & Heritage
Center was the setting for their day. The two treated their intercontinental guest list to a stunning and
heartfelt outdoor ceremony, then threw a tried and true Midwestern backyard party with a refined edge.
Jack and Nabeelah's organic, emotional day ultimately felt like the union of two entire circles of loved ones
that were destined to meet as well.
