Adrianna and Kasey's Sweet Rustic Affair at Woodwalk Gallery
There are some weddings that bring giant smiles to our faces as soon as we see them, and Adrianna and Kasey's big day at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor is definitely one of them. As you'll see from the beautiful images captured by Amanda Nippoldt Photography, the historic barn venue is more than just another rustic setting in the country. Filled with contemporary art, this one-of-a-kind art gallery features regional artisans that makes for something unique to see at every turn. The couple, who wanted something in Door County--a place filled with wonderful memories--felt the eclectic yet idyllic setting best illustrated who they are together. Adding to the sweet scenery was the bride's vintage look details, including a birdcage veil, a gown reminiscent of heirloom lace, and gold-tone peep-toe shoes. The bridesmaids wore bold patterned maxi dresses that added to the retro fun of the casual event. Flowers that looked just picked from a Wisconsin meadow and pies in tasty flavors added to the charm. Come see this bright sunny stunner, and get ready to smile!
From the bride:
Door County has always been a very special place for the two of us. Kasey grew up working summers in Baileys Harbor. When the two of us met, we spent as much time as we could in Door County together. It is where we fell in love and was the perfect place for us to tie the knot.
I booked Woodwalk Gallery site unseen! I had scoured magazines looking for the perfect venue in Door County. When I found Woodwalk Gallery, I knew that was it: the perfect mix of Door County Wisconsin charm and the twist of quirky eclectic art. It was perfect. Of course when I inquired with the owner, it was fully booked through 2015 and well into 2016. I decided to look elsewhere, but with no luck finding an alternative venue, I decided to call back and see what kind of dates were available in 2016. It just so happened that that very morning the gallery had had a cancellation, and the September 12th date was available. It was meant to be! Woodwalk Gallery was perfect because it really epitomized who Kasey and I are together: simple and real--not over styled, and just enough Door County without being too kitschy or stuffy. The art gallery added an unconventional twist to the entire space, which really made it feel like us.
We based our entire wedding off of keeping true to Door County in ways we appreciate most: an outdoor ceremony, local in-season flowers, cherry pie, and a bonfire. We kept the decor and dress simple, casual, with a vintage nod. Finally, we added our own special and unconventional touches: readings of all of our favorite children's authors by our nieces and nephews, paella served up family style, and an eight-piece brass band who kept the party going late into the evening. It was so much fun. I just wish it wouldn't have flown by so quickly!
