Allison & Noah

June 25, 2011 at Lawrence University Warch Center in Appleton

Music is an important part of this couple’s life. “We bonded over the fact that when we were in high school, we both spent our free time at a punk rock venue in Green Bay,” recalls Allison Rice. “I think I may have seen Noah’s band back then.” Given that, they wanted to hit a high note with their wedding. They tucked sheet music in the boutonnieres and tables were named for composers. Noah Harmon, an artist-in-residence at a Fox Valley nonprofit and a piano teacher at Appleton’s Heid Music, planned all the music and even arranged Handel’s Allegro Maestoso for two trumpets and an organ for the processional. “We felt like royalty walking out to trumpets,” says Allison. “I wanted to skip.” After the ceremony, the wedding party paraded to the reception and the trumpets were joined by Noah’s students, his brother Zach with a marching snare, and one of the priests.
