Angie & Nick

May 22, 2010 at Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh

Ask Angie Stumpf and Nick Hoople how they met, and you'll receive two different stories: Nick claims he approached Angie at a party, but Angie doesn't remember him until half-way through another semester in their life drawing class at UW-Stout. The couple then dated, graduated and moved to Minneapolis. On New Year Day 2009, during a sledding trip, Nick planned for a friend to write "marry me" in the snow; it took Angie a minute to realize what was going on, as she mistook it for "Merry Christmas." For their wedding, the couple included friends and family on their "Operation Decoration" at the Hilton Garden Inn. They created tissue paper flowers as part of the centerpieces, collected wedding photographs from family members as a display feature and in lieu of a traditional guest book, bought three apothocary jars for well wishes, advice and predictions.  Keeping with the DIY theme, Angie and Nick, both graphic designers, designed the invitations themselves, combining romantic with vintage and a bit quirky. All of this hard work resulted in a romantic wedding–a little vintage and a lot fun.
