A little rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of Annie and Dan Koepsell on their September wedding day. The couple had planned an outdoor ceremony, and they were naturally disappointed to see rain pouring down on their big day, but Dan kept the faith and made the final decision to exchange vows outside at the beautiful Boerner Botanical Gardens. Like a gift from Mother Nature, the clouds parted at 3 p.m., and the afternoon ceremony was highlighted by sunny skies and a breathtaking sunset. “We wanted rustic, natural and antique with neutral colors, and gave our florist free rein,” says Annie of the wedding’s signature décor. “I didn’t want anything that would offset the beautiful natural gardens.” Village Floral created three unique table designs using vintage silver vases and candelabras for an antique vibe. Guests were treated to small-plate food stations, passed appetizers and a dessert table with three flavors of mini cupcakes.
