Caitlin & Jesse

Sept. 25, 2010 with a ceremony at Ashland Lake Superior Lodge and reception at Explorer’s Point Restaurant and Blue Heron Bar in Ashland

It’s often said there are many fish in the sea, but in the case of avid fisherman Jesse Altrichter, there was one particular catch that caught his eye. Caitlin, who says she “grew up in a boat” with her father and brother, hooked Jesse during a camping trip to Island Lake. As the two were fishing, Jesse told Caitlin to reel in her line, as he had new bait for her to try. When she turned around, he had a ring in his hand and asked Caitlin to marry him. The couple brought their love of the lake into their wedding by naming each table after a lake Jesse had fished. And, of course, guests dined on fish caught in Lake Superior, as they enjoyed the lodge’s rustic and romantic décor.
