Carolyn & John

October 1, 2011 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church and The Waters Yacht Club in Oshkosh

Were it not for a carload of nurses, Carolyn Tahlier and John Remmel might never have had a wedding day. Introduced by friends and living in different cities, they choose a spot in Fond du Lac for their first date. But a snowstorm rolled in, and despite John’s offer to reschedule, Carolyn slowly made her way. Almost there, she hit a patch of ice and crashed into a guardrail. Behind her was a carload of nurses, who had her sit in their car while she waited for a tow truck. Telling them her story about the “cute boy” who was waiting for her, they drove Carolyn to the restaurant to meet John. “We relive this story all the time,” says Carolyn. “I am so thankful that I was OK and that he didn’t leave; otherwise we would never have this story to tell to our children someday.”
