Laura & Raza
Though they met in Los Angeles, Wisconsin natives Laura Sullivan and Raza Lawrence knew their home state was where they wanted to have their wedding. Planning a wedding from 2,000 miles away was difficult, says Laura, but everything turned out wonderfully—and very Wisconsin. The couple hosted their ceremony in a field, dinner in a tent, and cocktails and dancing in a barn. Family members helped Laura craft the rustic-chic decorations and in return, guests dined on gourmet macaroni and cheese, complemented by a selection of Wisconsin beers. Since family is important to this couple, California wines and Kentucky bourbons (much of Raza’s family resides in Kentucky) were available alongside the Badger-state brews. “Every member of our families was a part of our wedding,” says Laura “That was very special to us.”
