Melissa and Kyle's Stormy Yet Sweet Special Day
Mother Nature provided her own filter to Melissa and Kyle's wedding photos, beautifully taken by Magdalene Photography. While August in Wisconsin is more typically bright blue skies, sunshine was instead swapped for gloomy cloud cover, adding an unexpected but much welcome, mystical touch of romance for which you just can't plan. Having only gotten engaged in May, the couple had a small window of time to plan a big day, and they did it with elegant style. The Vines & Rushes Winery venue set the stage for the theme, with a day that inlcuded an intimate reception with 100 guests, where all were treated to a feast with tastes that would please any foodie. Cheers to the newlyweds!
From the photographer:
Inspired by everything a winery stands for--its beauty, ability to bring people together, and calming landscape--Melissa and Kyle knew that Vines & Rushes Winery would be the place for their special day.
From a gourmet cheese table to handmade wine glass charms to wine bottle ceremony decor, friends and family pitched in to make a truly personal event with a vineyard aesthetic--and all in a short period of engagement from May to August! “I am so happy we decided to keep our wedding party small and kept our guest list at 100. It was much more intimate, and we actually got to talk to every single person we invited. That was very important to me,” shared the bride, recounting the best moments of the day.
Another favorite detail was their ceremony pergola. Kyle’s favorite tavern (originally built in the 1850s) was torn down just months before the wedding, and thankfully they were able to salvage four doors with one gorgeous wedding project in mind. This groom stripped, refinished, and then aged the wood again to transform it into a one-of-a-kind altar structure for not just their wedding day but also decor for decades to come.
Looking back at the photos, both Melissa and Kyle felt happy and blessed to have such beautiful memories.
