Samantha and Jon's Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding at Christopher Farm & Gardens
For a couple who didn't have a grand vision for their dream day together, Samantha and Jon put on an impressively beautiful display of their love. This sunlit outdoor summer wedding took place at Christopher Farm & Gardens, which is privately owned by a family friend. A mix of colorful flowers, lush green trees, and the rippling water of Lake Michigan provided a stunning natural backdrop for the couple to share their "I dos." Soft pastels dotted the day through fresh florals and the bridesmaids sweet flowy gowns. The bride shined brighter than the day, and the groom grew more and more dashing with every look at his new wife. Caynay Photo captured all of the inspiring details and have us even more eager for the warmer weather to come to Wisconsin.
From the bride:
I knew from the moment I met Jon that were meant to be together forever—but when I turned around after teeing off on the 16th hole of our favorite golf course to find him proposing, I was totally surprised. We weren’t a couple that always talked about what our wedding would be like one day; we didn’t dream up extravagant plans or know what color we wanted our flowers to be—but we knew we wanted our day to be utterly personal, complete with laughter, good food, and even better family and friends. And our wedding was just that—it was perfect, it was us.
Because I work in event planning, my mother and I set our minds to coordinating everything on our own. We quickly learned that “it’s all about who you know,” and that was the name of the game when it came to planning our big day. Our family is friends with the owner of the Christopher Farm & Gardens—a 400-acre private estate located along the western shores of Lake Michigan, and we were fortune enough to have this as the backdrop of our day.
The rest of the details were truly a family affair, with uncles, aunts, and cousins doing whatever they could to make our vision come to life. My father is the executive chef at a restaurant in Kohler, so we couldn’t imagine anyone better preparing our delicious spread for the evening. From the antique doorway entry, to the marquee love sign, my uncle’s custom-made decorations left us speechless. Another uncle conducted a very personal wedding ceremony in front of our closest friends and family—not too shabby for his first time officiating a wedding! Not to our surprise, the dance floor was always packed, the food was delicious, laughter and love filled the air, and memories made will last a lifetime.
