After exploring mountains, oceans and forests, Jacob Dohm couldn’t fathom really settling down in his Wisconsin hometown, but when he saw colleague Morgan Pechauer at a work event, his heart recognized it was a call home. He was dazzled by her beauty, charmed by her wit and enchanted by her sweet demeanor, and treasured every moment he spent with her. Then he had to make the hardest decision of his life: as co-workers, he felt he had to decline her invitation to hang out together, because of professional ethics. However, when Morgan left their company for a new job, he got another chance to act on his feelings. They began dating, eventually moved into an apartment and months later bought a starter home. The couple celebrated with a trip to Norway for 10 days and returned home to plan their spring wedding, where they vowed to spend the rest of their lives together, with Morgan’s grandfather, a former Lutheran pastor, officiating.
