Step into the lush landscape of Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison and stand awestruck at the flowers, both natural and confectionery, captured with brilliant brushstrokes on these elegant cakes.

As the first impression of your wedding to come, the earth tones in this suite by Bay View Printing Co. hint at a day of warmth and light. Brushes of cooler colors and dramatic geometric design add a distinctive note to the custom-designed suite, created individually on a letterpress printer and highlighted with a logo made especially for the bride and groom.

Imagination runs wild on this petite pastel wonder from Julie Michelle Cakes. Using a Swiss meringue buttercream, the abstract floral design was created with piping and brushes to emulate a vibrant, painterly style.

Call it “Still Life with Flowers.” Classic place settings are enhanced with a bowl of blossoms from Madison Wedding Flowers and include a bounty of dahlias, ranunculus, snowberry, roses, tulips, mini carnations and ninebark foliage.

A bouquet this beautiful, with a palette of pastel pink and cream-colored blossoms of all sizes, is worthy of its own portrait. Madison Wedding Flowers styled this arrangement, using, among other flowers, the ultra-appropriate Blushing Bride protea.

This classic three-tiered cake uses buttercream frosting as its only “paint,” with the twining dogwood lovingly created by Rolling Pin Bakeshop with a bit of blush, a dollop of brown and some fresh greens to evoke a fresh spring day—perfect for a modern bride who likes a touch of tradition.

This beauty by Curtis and Cake, frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream and draped in fondant, is awash in shimmering hand-painted floral designs from top tier on down. Enhancing the brushwork are three-dimensional fruit, flowers and foliage, all hand-crafted in sugar to accent the painted details.

A gorgeous gown makes every bride an artist’s muse. In this stunning creation of lace and tulle from Bliss Bridal, with a magical garden and flowers galore surrounding her, our bride is ready to paint her own picture of a wedding day to remember.
