When Natalie Kraemer was a junior in high school in 2008, she met a college freshman named Trevor Anderson at a friend’s house. The two dated for a couple of years, broke up, but occasionally ran into each other while attending the same college and when they both briefly lived in Atlanta. Cut to 2018: Natalie and Trevor met for dinner in Minneapolis, and the old feelings reignited. Ten years after they first dated, they were married on what Natalie describes as “the best day ever,” in an outdoor ceremony with family and friends from across the country. The day had a relaxed feel: the bride went barefoot and wore flowers in her hair. Her gown was personalized with shoulder straps fashioned from lace from her mother’s wedding dress. Family and friends played a big part in the ceremony. As she walked down the aisle, Natalie’s sister sang “Beautiful Things” by Gungor; the officiant was a friend of both bride and groom, and the bride’s cousin served as videographer. The couple wanted a reception with a backyard vibe, so with the help of her mother and friends, Natalie used an abundance of flowers from their own yard, along with some purchased blooms to create everything from centerpieces to boutonnieres, and used items from her mother’s rental company to create table décor and displays. Adding to the backyard-party feel were games and good eats, with an ice cream truck serving up dessert. After dinner, the couple managed to slip away for a moment alone to enjoy the sunset and revel in newlywed bliss.
