Tessa and Matt went to high school together, but it was fate that brought them together nearly ten years later. Matt’s sister was performing at a dive bar in 2017, and it was there where Matt approached Tessa, his high school crush. They hit it off, and their love story began.
Tessa’s tall and handsome boyfriend proposed to her in 2018, and he had all the small details planned out. Matt cleverly conspired with Tessa’s friends so Tessa would get a manicure… before she and her friend headed to a local bar which was packed with friends and family. There, Matt got down on one knee and popped the question with a custom ring. His proposal was complete with framed photos, strings of lights, and rose petals.
Tessa and Matt went with a bohemian natural theme for their special day. Burlap & Bells was chosen for its tall pines and even taller bluffs, lending the wedding celebration a peaceful feeling. The pair, along with help from family and friends, put a lot of DIY work into the day, from nearly a dozen professional looking handmade signs to hundreds of small glass bottles filled with homemade spice blends for fabulous favors. Tessa and Matt overcame a lot to get to their special day. First, their wedding was delayed by covid. Second, less than four months before the rescheduled wedding, Matt underwent his second round of brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Overcoming these hurdles indicates that Tessa and Matt have the foundation for a strong relatipnship with a life of love and joy ahead of them.
