Wedding Date: June 7, 2019
After a chance meeting at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (Ryan Hanna was a freshman, Amber Terkel a sophomore), the pair became college sweethearts. Though they spent 80 miles apart during one summer, they aced the challenge, meeting every weekend, despite teary farewells every Sunday as Amber boarded the Badger Bus back to Milwaukee. On the seventh anniversary of their first date, the couple was vacationing in Cabo San Lucas with Ryan’s family. One day they hiked the mountains behind their villa, and Amber thought she might not make it to the top, but they were almost at the peak when Ryan got down on one knee. For their wedding, the couple had a lush green and pale blue color palette, with lots of peonies and family references. Their favourite nods: brandy old-fashioneds and a custom handkerchief that belonged to Amber’s late grandmother.
