Wedding Inspiration: Rustic Romance at About Thyme Farm
Every corner of Door County is bursting with charm, and that’s especially evident in the region’s newest site for barn weddings, About Thyme Farm, located in Baileys Harbor. Host a seated dinner for up to 200 guests, then kick off your heels, as the space transforms into the most elegant of barn parties.
If this centerpiece rife with old world charm looks like it’s fresh from the garden, that’s because it is. Designer Abbie Turner of Door Blooms Flower Farm grows every bloom with her own two green thumbs on her half-acre Door County farm.
Ruth Jahja-Daro of Seniman Calligraphy looked no further than Door County’s luscious landscape—the rolling waves, the rustic wood, the sandy beaches—for stationery inspiration. Walnut ink is layered over a wash of watercolor, the muted teals coordinating with nearby Lake Michigan.
Say goodbye to buttoned-up bouquets; a loose, organic structure is the look du jour. Door Blooms Flower Farm designs arrangements using only seasonal blooms, like these dahlias, black sweet peas and honeysuckle.
It’s all in the details. For this invitation suite, marbled envelope liners and vintage animal stamps finish off the understated yet oh-so-chic paper pieces.
Classic candlesticks and a gauzy runner add an air of enchantment to a farmhouse table, where your friends and family gather to clink their glasses, toasting your new marriage.
