Jennifer McIlquham’s dog, Helix, knew her “mom” and Matthew Suarez were destined to be together. Jennifer and Matthew were each out walking their dogs when Helix broke free and ran to Matthew’s dog, Reggie. “They started playing, and the rest is history!” Jennifer says. Fast-forward two years at the same park: Matthew got down on one knee to propose. The couple’s January wedding day was warmed by family taking part in their Catholic ceremony. Godparents brought gifts down the aisle and walked in the procession to make the day even more special. Murray Mansion became an elegant winter wonderland, with evergreen trees embellished according to the white, silver and green palette. Small pine tree centerpieces decorated the guest tables while white houses with lights and garlands adorned the head table. One of the couple’s favorite moments — second only to their first sight of each other in the church — was when the two went up to the balcony during the reception. “We took a minute to ourselves to take everything in from the day and enjoy looking out at everyone who was there to support us and our future,” Jennifer says. Guests received chocolates Jennifer had hand-wrapped and placed in boxes with wooden name tags. The big surprise: The newlyweds held a gender reveal after the ceremony to share the news of their baby-to-be: It’s a girl!
