A friend coaxed Karly Schultz into joining Bumble in January 2017, and she hesitantly downloaded the app. After swiping right on Ryan Anderson, the two chatted about their Midwest roots (they lived in Denver at the time), and it became clear there was something special. “Ryan was the first ‘swipe right’ I met in person,” Karly says. Even though Ryan and Karly knew after only two weeks that they would get married, the couple waited a year and a half to check out engagement rings. The proposal was nonetheless a surprise; during a trip to Chicago, Ryan led Karly to their hotel’s balcony, where she was welcomed with a romantic display of rose petals and candles. Ryan proceeded to ask for her hand in marriage as all their parents watched from across the street. After two years of planning and replanning, the two were ecstatic to finally get married. The Milwaukee Art Museum was rife with rose floral displays and a soft color palette to create a timeless garden theme within the museum’s modern architecture. After sharing a heartwarming first look, it was time to walk down the aisle. “Seeing each other at either end, filled with so much emotion and anticipation, is a moment that will be impossible to forget,” Karly said.
