Claire + Willie: Wedding full of Succulents

By:
Reeve Currie

Claire and Willie's wedding was full of love, laughter, and greenery. From a gorgeous bouquet to a ceremony under glowing lights, this couple planned an exquisite day. Claire chose ruby red shoes and a gown that was lined with pearls. Friends and family (and a softly purring cat!) were treated to a dessert of donuts on a wall created by Claire's dad. Her mother carefully nurtured the succulents all summer long, so that they were ready for the reception, and she created the concrete bases that they grew in as well. With a giggly wedding party and details created with the help of family, this couple's big day was a celebration of love and all the people they held dear.

From the Wedding Planner, Amanda at the Bride Consultant:

When both members of a couple end their handwritten vows with, "I like you and I love you" a nod to the show Parks and Recreation, you know that the wedding is going to be filled with love, humor, and friendship. I absolutely loved working with Claire and Willie on their September wedding, mostly because I truly loved working with them! Every meeting we had to discuss their wedding involved a lot of laughter, and also some form of drink! They wanted their wedding to be unique, but also be fun and lighthearted, and it was just that.

Claire and Willie complete each other in the best possible way. Both of them care about each other, family, and also their cat (Mabel even made an appearance in some of Claire's getting ready shots!). Claire and Willie made the somewhat unique decision to have a maid of honor and best man, but not a full wedding party. The result? Every attendee felt like they were part of a giant wedding party! It could not have been more fun to be a part of, and I think everyone at the wedding would agree!

As for other details, Claire's mom has quite a green-thumb and decided to hand make all of the amazing concrete centerpieces herself, as well as plant the sweet succulents in each. She spent all summer making sure that the little succulents were ready for the big-day! Claire and Willie also decided that they were not cake people, but instead wanted a wall of doughnuts. Claire's dad helped make this dream a reality, and created one of the most incredible doughnut walls I have ever seen! It was truly a work of art.

They say a perfect wedding is one that is filled with laughter, friendship, love and family. From Claire and Willie's humorous and honest vows, to their families eagerness to be involved in planning process, and from their romantic sunset pictures to the guests tearing it up on the dance floor, Claire and Willie's wedding was just that - perfect.
