Elise and Michael's Vintage Charm Wedding in Lake Geneva

With bright sunshine overhead, but still a cool nip in the early spring air, we're dreaming of warm summer days and the gorgeous outdoor weddings that go hand-in-hand. The perfect example: Elise and Michael's big day at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. The couple's outdoor ceremony was held beneath clear blue skies and a natural backdrop of lush green trees and a shimmering sunlit late. Gorgeous rustic and vintage touches dotted the ceremony and beautifully transformed the window-lined winter Ski Chalet into a spectacular summer reception spot. Dawn E. From the bride:

My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We were together seven years before we made it "official"! We are from Chicago, but wanted to have our wedding in Lake Geneva. My mother in-law has a large family and they all grew up in Lake Geneva. We wanted something away from the city but close enough for all our friends and family to attend. We chose to have our wedding in August at the beautiful Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. We loved the idea of having an outdoor ceremony and nontraditional reception venue.

Summer is our favorite season and we wanted to showcase the lush outdoors to all of our guests. I stuck with simple colors, grey and blush, to help complement the outdoor beauty. I'm a huge fan of vintage charm and rented a ton of brass candlesticks and old shutter windows to bring that vintage feel to our reception. Our reception was located on the hotel grounds, on top of a hill in the Ski Chalet. It was extremely rustic with cobble stone floors and open windows all around the venue to view the outdoor beauty. My husband loved the rustic feel, and I was happy to bring my vintage and chic touches to it all. Everyone told us that all our details really represented our personalities and relationship well. We were both so pleased with how everything turned out. It is a night we will never forget!
