Sarah and Hunter celebrated their love in Mount Horeb with joyous florals and a happy color palette.
Ellen and Ryan: Love at the Madison Public Library
It should come as no surprise that as a writer, I have a special place in my heart for libraries. So when I saw Amelia John's amazing photographs of Ellen and Ryan's wedding at Madison Public Library, my heart skipped a beat. While any library feels a bit like home to me, the Madison Public Library would be like living in a modern art masterpiece. Clean lines are mixed with palettes of bold colors and fresh white--similar to this couple and their wedding party's of primary colors. The bride and groom wore pops of yellow; Ellen with a sunny bouquet and OMG! shoes, and Ryan playing the color game with his socks and pocket square. The bridesmaid looked sassy in navy blue tea-length dresses paired with red heels and bride-matching bouquets.
The beautiful ceremony took place in front of tall windows that let the light and city view pour in. But what I just can't get enough of are the fun photo moments that the library provided. Because let's face it, what's sweeter than stealing a few smooches among the book stacks? Nothing! It's time to check out the wedding story of Ellen and Ryan...
From the bride:
Ryan proposed on a beautiful night in Venice, Italy, in the center of Saint Mark's Square, while we were on a trip touring Europe. While the adventure of our trip was exciting enough, we couldn't wait to get home and tell everyone our wonderful news!
Upon returning home we immediately began planning a wedding that was as bright and beautiful as our engagement. We chose to hold our ceremony at the Madison Public Library, because it was in the heart of the city where our relationship began.
We loved the clean white color scheme and textural details. The space was beautiful enough to not require a lot of expenses in decorations, while still giving us the freedom to play with bright pops of color! The rest of the library lent itself to some really fun photo opportunities, which Amelia John photographers really helped us to take full advantage of.
Our reception was a cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres, small plates, signature cocktails, and dancing! Steenbock's on Orchard was the perfect venue, with amazing food, and the greatest staff. They made the entire experience of planning the reception as stress free as possible.
We had so much fun planning our wedding and are thankful for the help from so many friends, family, and experienced professionals, making our day even better than we could have imagined. We felt so much love that day, and it was the perfect start to our life together.
