Jamie & Ryan: A Classic, Old World Wedding at Cuvée in the Third Ward

One thing Jamie Klema and Ryan Beighton knew for sure was they wanted their guests to be comfortable, especially out-of-towners visiting Milwaukee for the first time. To eliminate any potential inconveniences, they chose a central location in the historic Third Ward, rented nearby parking lots and secured a hotel block within walking distance. The combined ceremony and reception at Cuvée—think 1800s Cream City brick, exposed ceilings and gleaming wood floors—afforded Jamie the classic, old world look and feel she sought. Burgundy bridesmaid dresses, bouquets and cupcakes provided the only pop of color against the dramatic backdrop of black chiavari chairs and ivory linens. Opting to take photos beforehand allowed the couple to mingle with guests during cocktail hour, and a king’s table meant wedding-party members could sit with their plus-ones while dining on filet mignon, princess potatoes and chilled cupcakes with cream cheese filling.
