A speakeasy wedding turns ghostly with skeletal makeup and a dark twist.
JoAnna & Paul: Modern Glamour at the Hot Water Wherehouse
JoAnna Gibbons and Paul Young met through mutual friends, connecting over drinks at a bar they both frequented. When Paul invited JoAnna to enjoy fine dining at the restaurant where he worked as a chef, “I knew I had her,” he says. He so impressed her with his culinary prowess that when he called her the next day to ask her out, she agreed. “She was calm and cool to my outgoing and hyper—the Bonnie to my Clyde,” Paul says.
The couple was up to the formidable task of planning a perfect wedding—JoAnna owns J.Invites stationery and Paul is a chef, so they knew the design details and food had to be on point. Paul designed a custom dish, and JoAnna created luxe favor bags containing gold dice, a pink pencil and a Yahtzee score card to highlight the couple’s playful side, thus leaving guests with a reminder of their philosophy: “Let the good times roll.”
