Mariana and Matt's Casablanca-Themed Wedding
Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, we're so glad this wedding walked into ours! Themed after the movie that always ranks among the top films of all time, Casablanca was the inspiration for Mariana and Matt's vintage tropical wedding. The Brazilian bride worked in elements of her hertigage into the big day's theme, with florals and decor native to her home country. Her gorgeous lace gown and birdcage veil felt perfectly classic and contemporary at the same time. The groom and his guys were dashing in crisp cut suits, while the bridesmaid brought in the color of the tropics in sweet tea-length coral dresses and statement necklaces. The florals in the bouquets, boutonnieres, and reception decor, not to mention the simply stated but elegant palms down the ceremony aisle, stole the show. Mackenzie Orth Photography magnificently captured all of the stunning details of this romantically themed wedding day. And all we can say in response: "Here's looking at you, kid(s)!"
From the photographer:
The inspiration for Matt and Mariana's wedding was the movie Casablanca: classy and tropical. The groom stayed true to his classic prepster style, with matching socks for the groomsmen and bowties on the placecards. The bride is Brazilian, and incorporated her culture into many of the details, with the birds of paradise and orchids in her bouquet being the same ones grown in her grandfather’s backyard back in Brazil. They held a traditional Presbyterian ceremony with portions spoken in both English and Portuguese, as many of the bride's extended family had traveled from Brazil for the celebration.
