Married in a Meadow: A Vintage Wisconsin Wedding
As wedding photographers themselves, Maison Gustke and Caleb Engel of Maison Meredith Photography are no strangers to telling love stories. Setting the scene for their own story, which all started atop a mountain while snowboarding, they knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day, with personal touches topping their lists. Caleb and Maison’s day was completely their own, including the bride’s custom-made wedding gown, the ceremony cross built by Maison’s grandfather and father, Caleb’s cufflinks made from his late mother’s old medals, and some of their dearest friends and mentors singing, playing music and reading during the ceremony.
A large meadow served as their backdrop, against which they created a ceremony and reception site tailored to their tastes. While days of rain led up to the event, the only wedding-day drops to fall were from the guests, as there wasn’t a dry eye when Caleb saw his bride for the first time. Once the ceremony came to a close, guests found their custom place cards, entered a grand white tent sparkling with gold-accented table runners, gold-rimmed plates from antique and vintage shops, and vases of lush florals. With every gorgeous detail in place, the best part of the event was, undeniably, celebrating the new relationship and adventures to come for this married couple.
