A Vibrant Wedding at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
When co-workers Bethany Schimmel and Simon Kasper were assigned to work on a project together in Alaska, sparks flew. But Simon opted for a warmer climate when the time came to propose: Cancun. “He worked with our hotel while on vacation to set up a romantic candlelight dinner on the beach,” Bethany says. As if that weren’t enough, he locked in her “yes” by being downright adorable. “He couldn’t remember what he wanted to say; he was so cute.”
Although the globetrotters don’t originally call Wisconsin home, they wanted to show their guests all the best the capital city has to offer, with a rooftop ceremony at Madison’s most striking art museum. The day was perfect, despite a sudden squall. “As we stepped out of the reception to walk to our hotel, a downpour caught us,” Bethany says. “Our guests captured photos of us dashing away in the rain. It was the best surprise.”
