St. James 1868
Located downtown Milwaukee St. James 1868 features 2 historic wedding and event venues; the HYDE and the ABBEY. Each venue boasts its own interpretation of European elegance, inviting guests to take their vision to new heights.
The Abbey is the larger venue at St. James 1868 and can host up to 250 guests for a wedding ceremony and reception. The former church maintains original Tiffany stained-glass windows, 15th Century hand-carved monastery panels, original hardwood floors, and antique light fixtures updated for a contemporary take on English-designed interiors. The Abbey has designated Duke and Duchess Suites, a dedicated outdoor courtyard, as well as tables and chairs that are all included in the venue rental.
The Hyde is the smaller venue at St. James 1868 and can host up to 150 guests for a wedding reception and up to 100 guests for an outdoor ceremony and reception May through October. The Hyde is the former parish house, previously used as the church gymnasium and features a two-story vaulted loft space with expansive windows, filtered natural light and original hardwood floors. The Hyde has a designated Hathaway Suite with an ensuite bathroom, Harrison Suite, 1,300 sq. ft. dedicated outdoor terrace, and tables and chairs that are all included in the venue rental.
