A Barn Wedding Filled with Beauty in Burlington

Real Wedding

We wish we could show you every single picture Monica Caughlin Photography shot of Amanda and John's wedding day, because the selection we grabbed was just a tiny glimpse of what looked to be a fun-filled day shared with close friends and family. Not only did all of the personal handmade touches pop but also there was a sense of humor that shined through that isn't always easily captured on film. With that said, we do hope what we do have to feature will give your the same warm and fuzzy feelings we got as we took a sneak peek into this couple's special day together. Enjoy!

From the photographer:

Amanda and John wanted to create a romantic, outdoor wedding, and The Rustic Barn was the perfect venue to help carry out their vision. They decided on a color scheme of gold and blush tones to help achieve the romance they were going for. Since they didn't want to take away from the beauty of the barn and its chandeliers, they decorated with a lot of flowers and candles and planned the ceremony to take place at sunset. This was truly a DIY wedding, with projects including displayed bridal party bio boards in lieu of a program, a s'mores bar made by the brides family, and homemade pumpkin chili and cookies by the bride herself. There were a lot of personal touches as well, such asthe drum groom's cake (which was a surprise for the groom, who is a drummer in a rock band), the Butterbeer shots available at the bar as a nod to the bride's obsession with Harry Potter, and the "Jesuit Joe" coffee served at the coffee bar (the bride and several members of the bridal party are Marquette alums).
