When it comes to wedding trends, few are hotter than bringing the indoors outside. Taking sofas, oversized chairs, chandeliers and tables outside adds an air of the unexpected, and creates decidedly chic areas for guests to come together and relax. Local couple Jenna and Ben Laws did just that, giving guests a serene space to catch up and chat in a laid-back outdoor lounge area.

Local couple Jenna and Ben Laws did just that, giving guests a serene space to catch up and chat in a laid-back outdoor lounge area.
“Wisconsin is so beautiful in the summer, and the property where we held our wedding was gorgeous, so we wanted to highlight that with additional seating for guests to enjoy the setting,” says Jenna of their June 2014 wedding, which took place at a private Wisconsin home.
The seating rentals for the Laws’ wedding came from Signature Events Planning and Design Studio, and were styled by owner and event coordinator Shelly Stone. Her advice when bringing the indoors out? “Find comfortable seating,” says Stone. “Maybe add some blankets. We’ve also used large pillows scattered on the ground around a fire pit. Make sure to have soft lighting, flat spaces to set drinks and food on, and that the seating is close, intimate and conversational.”
