Cora & Ryan

November 19, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake

Over the seven years Cora Wangler and Ryan Von Holst dated, they spent many summers and holidays together in Elkhart Lake, so having their reception at the Osthoff Resort was no surprise. In fact, it was a bit of a family affair. “My grandparents had their 50th wedding anniversary in the Villa Gottfried room at Osthoff, where we were married,” says Cora. “My Aunt Donna and Uncle Terry were also married in the same room. Osthoff is a very special place to us.” With just 150 guests, the day was filled with personal touches, like handmade favors, ribbon wands and tissue-paper pom-poms. The couple brought in cupcakes from their favorite bakery in Chicagoland (where the couple now lives). Each attendant received a pair of Toms shoes, which the bride herself donned on the dance floor. For each pair of shoes sold, Toms donates a pair of shoes to a child in need. “We love to give back whenever we can,” says Cora.
