Two Men Join as One in the Midwest
Since same-sex marriage became legal in the state of Wisconsin just this past fall, I'm happy to present our first-ever gay marriage on WiBride.com (cue the confetti)! While Dalyn and Sebastian met and fell in love in New York, it was the Midwest--surrounded by friends and family--where they wanted to begin their married life together. In a casual weekend-long affair at Camp Wandawega (my favorite place in all of Wisconsin...despite never actually have been there), the couple turned lazy summer days with their loved ones into an event to remember. We're so happy to feature this special union photographed by Nikki N Photography and are looking forward to seeing the number of weddings in our great state multiply!
From the Grooms:
We met in Brooklyn, NY, in April of 2008. After several years of living in Brooklyn together, we decided to move back to the Midwest in 2012 to be closer to both our families in Wisconsin and Colorado. Friends of ours, David and Tereasa, own Camp Wandawega and when we first visited it we knew that is where we wanted to get married. Our wedding solidified both our relationship and our new connection to the Midwest. It was a very casual and relaxed weekend. Friday night featured a Wisconsin-style Fish Fry. The ceremony was also very casual, followed by a whole hog dinner (pork three ways). It could not have been a more perfect weekend, with friends, family, dancing, and lots of love.
