Filled with dark blues and shimmering metallics, the Meyer Theatre venue is tranformed into a midnight setting. The bride and groom look stunning in elegant formal wear, while the ring bearer and flower girl burst with vibrant energy like a shooting star. I have planned different variations of this wedding concept since age 10. The vision began with a giant paper moon and stars and eventually evolved to include other concepts that had had become important to my style, and later, my marriage. My vision narrowed to a theme of "vintage astronomy," a relatively obtuse idea, that I tied into a quote from Carl Sagan that I found to be very romantic and really fused my vision into an inclusively romantic and global idea of love: “Everything amazing about the universe is inside of you, and the two are inseparable.”
The opportunity to put together a styled shoot came about when I was contacted by an up-and-coming wedding venue in downtown Green Bay that was recently built onto a historic theatre. I jumped at the opportunity to showcase a new venue and shine a spotlight on the downtown community I love so much.
With both a concept and a vision, I assembled a team of locally owned businesses for the ultimately rewarding task of making a vision reality.
I can’t say enough about the hard work each vendor put into this shoot. It was a true sense of community among people that were excited to bring a creative edge to an otherwise “weird” sounding concept. Even more exciting is the passion each of us holds for our community and how important it is for us to give our time, talents and products to build up a new business while building up one another.
