A place close to their hearts, Door County provided a gorgeous autumnal backdrop for Lauren Paulson and Austin Edge’s wedding day. After Austin spotted Lauren in the stands at a summer baseball game, he knew it was game over. The dreamy destination has played host to many memories, from Lauren serving soft serve at Wilson's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor to their countless vacations together and, eventually, a picturesque engagement at Sunset Beach.
After a heartfelt ceremony at Stella Maris Catholic Church, guests gathered for a chic cocktail hour at Northern Haus, where they indulged in live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, idyllic landscapes and, of course, Spotted Cow. Enamored with the elegance of the venue, the couple wove their personal touches throughout the design, making for an unforgettable celebration. An “in loving memory” table honored those who were there in spirit.
To lean into the fall theme, warm hues and earth tones were fused throughout the design with an abundance of lush blooms, patterned linens and timeless décor. Sentimental speeches and an array of flickering candles created a cozy ambiance.
Dancing on the custom dance floor, late-night snacks of tacos, burgers and fries, as well as donuts and milk and signature cocktails, kept the festivities going. As a cinematic ending to their picture-perfect day, radiant marquee letters reading “Mr. & Mrs.” illuminated the outdoors and reminded everyone of Lauren and Austin’s first night as husband and wife. —Sydney Stevens
