On a warm August afternoon, guests gathered along the shore of Big Cedar Lake, a setting that had quietly framed this love story for years. Grace Grunau and Lucas Mortensen met at Milwaukee rowing club in high school, spending summers on the water and bonding over long days of skiing and sunset boat rides. With her family home being on the lake, returning to exchange vows there felt like a homecoming.
The ballroom ceremony unfolded inside a sweeping floral arch brimming with blush and ivory roses, softened by airy greenery and backdropped by bay-view windows overlooking the lake. Soft blue details carried throughout the design—tailored linens, custom architectural backdrops and thoughtful paper goods—offering a crisp counterpoint to the romantic blooms.
