Warm Bespoke Ambiance in Wedding at The Pritzlaff

Nicky Young and Colin Brancato’s wedding was never going to be a generic ballroom affair. The two self-proclaimed perfectionists wanted to approach the day with care. Their story began at University of Wisconsin–Madison. After years of running into each other through mutual friends, the stars aligned on a spontaneous night out, during which their reconnection grew romantic.

On their wedding day, the history of their love story was on full display throughout the Pritzlaff. A custom toile design was woven into the linens, photo booth and matchbooks featuring illustrations of the couple's hobbies and interests. To kick off the weekend festivities and warmly welcome the out-of-state guests, the pair curated welcome bags with meaningful items connected to them or their families. From Spotted Cow and local cheeses to Sam Adams and Marsha’s Homemade Buckeyes, each element immersed loved ones into the world of Nicky and Colin.

Drawing inspiration from Nicky’s favorite interior designers, the planner crafted a warm and bespoke atmosphere inside the venue. Florals moved through creamy whites, soft blush and deep burgundy with each tablescape tailored to its own linen.

Between wedding party photos and cocktail hour, newlyweds slipped away to enjoy cocktails and oysters at St. Paul’s Tiki Bar. “It was the perfect reset before the reception, and such a good reminder that the day moves incredibly fast,” Megan Russell, wedding planner said.

Their night ended with Wisconsin flair; the venue’s vault became a dessert room stocked with custard from the iconic Kopp’s Frozen Custard, brats and cheese curds hit the dance floor until midnight, and guests went home with favors of local old fashioned-flavored chocolates. —Rylee Woodward
