After meeting on a dating app during the pandemic and knowing early on they were meant to be, Katie Kittredge and Laura Schlenker celebrated their dream wedding in an outdoor ceremony at Boxed and Burlap, a charming coffeehouse that also serves as an event space. Inspired by the outdoors and their love of coffee, the couple specifically chose the fall season to coincide with their nuptials and were delighted by the natural ambiance the colorful fall season provided for their ceremony. Showcasing the color palette in its full expression, Katie’s bridesmaids donned gowns in a terracotta color while Laura was dressed in blue—perfectly complementing each other. Personal touches permeated the day, from Katie’s stepfather officiating the wedding to a custom cake topper designed after their beloved Golden Retriever, Dottie. They also wove a string of lace that was used by Katie’s mother and grandmother in their respective bouquets. For the couple’s cocktail hour, guests were treated to appetizers around cozy fire pits, and dinner was served in Boxed and Burlap’s barn. A few added delights of the day included Katie’s change into a beautiful reception dress, and a surprise performance of “Simply the Best,” a favorite song of both Katie and Laura.
Katie and Laura pulled inspiration from their shared love of coffee and the outdoors for their chic nuptials.
