Water brought Claire Schlenker and David Aguilar together when both were students at UW-Madison. It was there that they discovered a mutual love of sailing, and after spending a summer “hanging out on sailboats,” they knew they were meant to be, says Claire. The active couple also found a shared passion for triathlons; they annually participate in the Door County Triathlon as their go-to getaway. “David proposed in Sister Bay, at the marina right at sunset,” Claire recalls. The most memorable moment from their Door County wedding, she says, was “saying our vows to each other overlooking Green Bay. It was so beautiful.” One surprise on their big day was a cameo from Bucky Badger, hired by their parents as a good-luck charm as they sailed off into their future hand in hand.
